Yue Emily Yu, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.A.D.

Dermatology

Dr. Emily Yu is the director of Dermatology at Mission Internal Medical Group. She completed her Bachelor of Science from University of New Mexico under full scholarship, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

She received both her medical degree and doctorate degree in molecular cell biology from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. During her training at Washington University, she not only excelled in the practice of medicine by receiving numerous awards for academic excellence, she also succeeded in obtaining funding from Department of Defense Cancer Research Grant.

Dr. Yu completed her dermatology residency at Boston University School of Medicine and Tufts University School of Medicine. She is the recipient of American Society of Dermatologic Surgery Preceptorship Award, Resident Scholarship Award, and Young Investigator`s Writing Competition Award where she presented her research at the annual meeting and had her manuscript published in the prestigious Dermatologic Surgery Journal.

She completed her fellowship in procedural dermatology at Scripps Clinic, San Diego, California with particular emphasis on Mohs micrographic surgery, laser and cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Yu clinical interests are broad. Her medical interests focus on acne/rosacea, psoriasis, skin cancer prevention and treatment, inflammatory and bullous skin diseases, while her surgical interests include Mohs micrographic surgery, laser and cosmetic dermatology.

She is the author of numerous scientific publications, participates in clinical investigation, and lectures at local and national conferences. Dr. Yu is also fluent in Mandarin, Chinese.
