Biography:
Mark L. Callanen has been an out patient physical therapist since 1999 and received his Doctor of Physical Therapy in August 2007.
He has been board certified from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist since 2003. He currently directs West Coast Physical Therapy where he oversees all day to day functions in addition to working with a variety of patients and athletes, specializing in disorders of the neck and back.
He has taken extensive continuing education courses with regard to both the Osteopathic approach to spinal dysfunction, as well a the Maitland-Australian approach to treatment of peripheral and spinal joint dysfunction.
Dr. Callanen will be working on publishing his graduate thesis in 2009 on the topic of evaluating and treating disorders of the sacroiliac joint. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, he served as personal trainer at the University of Arizona. His interests include playing golf and spending time with his family. His personal philosophy is "Carpe Diem!"
